Spring Blooms and Backyard Shenanigans
Mom and Hollie added a touch of spring to her planters on the front porch. Nothing makes mom happier than some lovely blooms to greet her friends and family.
Mom makes plenty of time for power naps. She has been a little surprised by the fatigue but we keep reminding her as do her doctors, that her brain is doing all it can to heal and getting plenty of rest is essential. She likes to be busy so this has been a bit of an adjustment for her.
Hollie brought this really fun game called "Penny Drop" with her when she came to mom's in January. It's a fun game for the whole family. We enjoyed a sweet visit from Hillary's family the Sunday before Easter and spent some time playing it with Trenton and Wyatt and "Penny Drop" was a hit!
Notice mom's spiffy new glasses? These are new prescription glasses that have helped expand her view and adapt to the partial loss of her peripheral vision. Hollie has been good about reminding mom to wear them as much as possible to help her with everyday tasks.
Mom's girls (as she tenderly calls her chickens) like to occasionally huddle together on mom's porch mat. It's like they're all just waiting for her to come out and grace them with her presence. She loves to sit out on the porch and give them their treats. I've had to scold mom a few times for putting their treats on the porch instead of out on the grass as I've been trying to enforce a no poop policy on the porch. A few of the girls have caught on but there are occasion infractions. But we forgive them because they are laying beautiful eggs right now. Mom's getting about four to six eggs every couple days.
Chicken antics are now part of our therapy. Hollie likes to keep us laughing with all her hilarious chicken exploits. It's all in good fun although I don't think any of them trust Hollie anymore.

Thanks for keeping us updated Jen. We love your mom so much. She is an inspiration. Keeping you all in our prayers!
