Obituary for Patricia Dianne Barwick

Patricia Dianne Barwick, born January 7, 1952, in Logan, Utah, to James Thomas and Emma Bowyer Barwick, passed away peacefully in her home in Meridian, Idaho, on November 17, 2024, at the age of 72.

She is survived by her four children: Mark Sumrall, Jennifer Gibbs, Hollie Roberts, and Hillary Duncan Reed; her nine beloved grandchildren: Harrison Nicholls Sumrall, Blake Roberts, Aaron Gibbs, Seth Roberts, Hanna Roberts, Connor Gibbs, Aubrey Gibbs, Trenton Duncan, and Wyatt Reed; and her former husband, Stephen Sumrall. Patricia's life was a testament to love, dedication, and faith.

She lived a life filled with purpose and kindness. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she found joy and strength in studying the word of God. Her unwavering faith and generous spirit left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community.

A dedicated mother, Patricia raised her children with love, wisdom, and guidance. She was a faithful friend and gracious neighbor, always offering her time, support, and care to those around her. Her talents were boundless: she was an amazing teacher, a master gardener, and gifted in crafts, sewing, and quilting. Patricia's culinary creations brought joy to many, as she was a wonderful baker and cook.

Patricia also had a distinguished career in nursing, exemplifying compassion, expertise, and commitment. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees, achieving excellence in her field. Through her knowledge, skill, and genuine care for others, Patricia brought comfort and healing to countless patients. Her dedication to her profession reflected her boundless love for humanity and her desire to serve.

Her creativity and passion enriched the lives of those who knew her, and her impact for good will remain cherished in the hearts of all she touched.

Patricia's legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by her family and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Half Way Through Treatment

Our darling mom is feeling relatively good after the end of week three. Bravo! She's been a little more tired from the radiation and chemo which is to be expected but overall she has been tolerating this phase of treatment well. She's had a bit of energy to putz around the house and in the backyard doing little things here and there. Then she enjoys a little break. We had a good visit with mom's chemo oncologist on Thursday. Her numbers are good and we are feeling confident moving forward. We were advised on medication dosages to help keep gout symptoms at bay. This was a huge relief to mom as she experienced a flare up early last week.  Mom has been loving all the special treatment these last few weeks! A Glorious Star, A Humble Manger and Two Adoring Hens

Several years ago, mom wanted a new display in her front yard for Christmas. Mark helped bring her idea to realization and so she has enjoyed a glorious star, a humble manger and two adoring hens as the main feature in her outdoor Christmas display. She loved to create beautiful things, and this display is certainly one of them. It represents so much about mom, her love and reverence for the Lord, her desire to follow and share His light and her love for gathering family and friends together like a hen gathers her chicks. We understand there were many who did not get the chance to visit mom before her passing. We appreciate your love and desire to visit mom and wish that everyone could have had a chance to see her once more.  Despite not being able to see everyone, Mark put up mom's outdoor display this year to share her love for her friends and her community in hopes that she will be remembered for the beautiful, vibrant, fun, full of life and generous person that she was. ...
